Well Roger, the picture you posted of the brand new one looks great.
The interior color on this one has faded a bit and it hasn't aged well compared to one with pascha interior. I guess the red color fades away easier.
And about the sunroof, any 928 without sunroof is interesting. I can't believe people would spend over a 1000 dollars on a sunroof and not spend 400-500 bucks on a limited slip differential.

Dealers not customers often made the choice of options.

You bet, when you buy a Honda or Chevy. But most people buying an expensive world class sports car, which is what the 928 was throughout its run, typically pay attention to the option details. LSD on a 928, considering what it was used for - GT cruising - would not have been an important of a consideration as whether it had a sunroof.

Some fading on steering wheel

Rust ..

More rust...

Engine bay..

Drivers Bolster...

Anybody know whats a fair price for this car....looks like it was left outside for a bit and needs rust repair/repaint/interior work, has been sitting so lots of deferred maintenance as well. I know there was a similar car sold on eBay last fall for just under $5k...how much of a premium for this kinda fugly but rare limited edition? They want 15k! I would figure a regular Euro in this condition about 5-6k?

We have another one locally in better condition and he wants circa $20k. This one looks unloved - $5k to $10k. You can have mine for $25k 8>).
Could be worth checking the price of the 911 version relative to an 82 911 to judge price differential as a %.
I do have a spare Jubilee interior.

This car is pretty far gone - $5-7k currently even accounting for rarity IMO. If it didn't need a lot of bodywork/paint, then $15k would be fair, but you're looking at a lot of rust - more will be apparent once those spoilers are removed. If 928 values take off, these will become more desireable, but for now sad examples are still fairly worthless. The first ones to see value rises are the good (original) examples, which this ain't.

Of course, the seller may think they have gold... in which case its a no-sale and it will likely continue to decay in the outdoors, and the race will be on between 928 value rises, and it becoming a parts car.

If you really want a no-sunroof Jubilee edition, you might fare better buying one from Europe and importing yourself under the 25 year rule.

Has sidemarkers already installed so it's ready to go back over the sea.

Take your time, and I think a Jubilee could be found for $6k to $8k in typical condition. Always a big spread in a small market, so some chance the seller might eventually get $15k or $20k or even $25k, but likely in the same time period similar cars will sell for half that.

The owner (A real nice guy named Bjorn) called me back and offered me the car at 10k. I would probably bite on it but I'm full with three at the moment and all have issues with little time to address those issues. Bottom line I don't need another project. He noted that the car was maintained fully at this place: http://www.blairtalbotmotors.com
and anyone interested can talk to Blair about the car. Just passing the info on if anyone interested. Probably going to shoot myself 10 years from now when these are crazy money (vs wife shooting me now for taking on another project).
