Tap and Dye question
This is a general auto question:
Would anyone be able to point in the right direction on how to use a tap and dye kit? Web link? etc.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Good question...... I learned by tapping stainless.... A real PITA. That means breaking many taps.
The general technique is used on all metals but speed and pressure are material dependent.
What type of material are you planning on working with?

Buy the best ones you can afford. A good set will last you a lifetime and then some. A set can range from $9.99 to $500.00. I got a new Craftsman set on Ebay for $99.00. Considering it was a $279.00 set, a fair deal. Use proper cutting oil and use the correct size drill bits if you're tapping a new hole. A Numbered drill bit set is mandatory for many sizes in SAE and Metric. Take your time, pre-think every step and you can fix just about any problem you will come across.
