Guys, what he has into the car has nothing to do with it. A lien sale can get as much as the market will bear. If he gets more than what he has into it, it might make up for other sales where he's taken a loss.
That said, if he's done anything to it, it's relevant for determining the market value.

In this case it has everything to do with it. Anyone getting involved in this charade is going to have both eyes open and want to know the details of what they are getting involved in. It seems there are people who know the background of what's going on, but indulge us with cryptic little tidbits.
Personally I find this car about the most intriguing and desireable 928. From a tuners standpoint this is the car that started it all. I would like to own it and have it parked next to the Holbert's car.
But given the atmosphere of litigation and lawsuits would not touch it without knowing in detail both sides of the story.

As I said, I agree that "what was done" is important. But it has nothing to do with how he arrived at a sale amount. If it's worth $14,000, it's worth $14,000 whether he did $0 work or $25,000 work.

In past posts I've seen an engine for a DEVEK car, I think this one, with a custom intake manifold unlike anything in a stock 928. It had very high rise plumbing and a front opening for a cold intake/intercooler or supercharger?? Now that I want a photo, I can't find it. I'm not thinking that engine is currently in this car, and the "spare" engine looks stock to me. I wonder how much spare change has fallen into those partially plugged/open intake manifold holes?
