Default really?.......

so yesterday i removed the pod to adjust the speedo needle. i had it set about 15 mph too low, i also had to flip around the turn signal light and coolant warning bulb...
got it all fixed.. everything working...

so last night i go to back out the garage, and i turn on the lights... the pod illumination lights are not on, before i had to fiddle with the rheostat to get them to come on. I figured i had to get the voltage on the sweet spot to fire the led..

so last night i did the same and the lights came on for a sec. then flickered, and i smelled smoke... oh crap..

i shut it down... tonight i see that when i turn the lights on the rheostat got red hot....

can i bypass it to see it it has failed... it has always been quirky...

next.. i am buffing the hood and the lens of the drivers headlight falls out (i had them up to buff them as well ) and shatters on the ground and shattered

im done for tonight before something else breaks.

Wise, better step away slowly. Did you ever get the brakes bled?

lol... no....

thought it would be good to knock out some other small items and get away from the brakes for a little bit..

they are workable..

its wierd, they are tight when i first get in on the initial push, but then they are soft on the first push after that..

Sounds like your rheostat has a lot of corrosion. You should either deoxit the hell out of it (worked for me) or replace it with a PWM (pulse width modulator) assuming you have LED's.

I know some one on here makes them for the 928, just can't remember who ATM.

Hot rheostat sounds like you have a short as LEDs aren't going to draw more current than bulbs.

I am also thinking short...
Going to pull the pod and see.

What bulbs are tied into the rheostat?
