Default Valve guides?

I hadn't started my car in about 10 days because of a business trip to China.
At first start up I noticed a puff of blue smoke. Valve guides?
Would this be why I get a miss fire from one of the injectors after sitting for a week or so?

Is this for the 80in sig, how many miles?

What you describe is typical of Valve guides or more likely old rubber Valve Seals, as they are wear items.
I would do a warm Compression and Leak down test as a baseline.

I think a leaky injector could cause the same symptom. I'd determine which injector is leaking replace it and see if the smoke issue resolves itself. You don't want to leave it leaking as it is potentially damaging to the rings, bore and piston.

If it's valve guides you'll see oil deposits on the spark plugs.

My 81 would smoke like it was on fire if it sat longer than a week. Most of the spark plugs looked like they were dipped in margarita salt.

I have about 120k on the clock. This was the first time I noticed it smoke on start up. I think my balky injector and or valve seals are related. I'll pull the plugs and report back.
If in fact it is valve seals, this means I have to pull the heads off...oh boy!

The reason people buy new cars is that they can't afford old cars.
