Default Injector o-ring seating MY91

I am concerned that the o-rings are not fully seated in the intake. My recollection from previous cars, both '87s that they sat deeper.

The picture I snapped are after I tightened the fuel rail down.

The last picture is number 4 cylinder and it is seated lower than all the rest.

I am a paranoid about leaks...

I think that's too high.

I would need to go to the garage and take a look at mine but quite sure there're not that high.

You did not put the rubber spacers on the stud that you talked in the other thread before putting the fuel rail, right?

Do not look seated to me - they need to be pushed in hard. Add some lube if you did not do so already.
Second picture looks better though blurry.

My son and I 'persuaded' them into their respective holes. All are seated properly now.

Something isn't right. The first picture clearly shows that the lower o-rings are not seated.

The correct order of operations is:
- install injectors into rails
- attach clips
- wiggle/tug each injector to ensure that the clips 'click' into place
- install fuel rails, lower o-rings will take firm pressure to insert into bores
- tighten dampener and regulator nuts and rail nuts
- remove fuel pump relay and bypass to pressurize rails
- check for leaks

There shouldn't be any weirdness with the installation. Do not put the injectors in the bores and then try to install the rails (*)

Never, never, ever skip the last step. And do it well before you want to start the car. Ideally do this as soon as you've closed-up the fuel system.

* lower o-ring leak is false air, upper o-ring leak is a car fire.

Also, lube both o-rings with a rubber friendly lube (any gylcerin-based will do) to help them slip in and to ensure that the insertion friction doesn't cause them to 'roll' out of place.
