Yes .. that's what my 82 has, which is standard detail for the early style seats.

Thought I'd post this in case it's useful to anyone. The company sent me samples of 'Chocolate' and 'Brown'. Though it's difficult to see in the photograph, (according to this vendor), the brown in our early 928 cars is indeed 'Chocolate'. (The 'Brown' is richer and redder).

Installed the covers over a period of a few days. Pleasantly surprised with the quality of the kit and the results (considering how cheap it was). Vast improvement over what I had. We'll see how well they hold up.

That looks terrific. Is it vinyl or leather? How much were they?

Were they the $380 pair on Ebay? I may just have to do that as the passenger is cracked and drivers side is starting to separate despite my best efforts.

Thanks Mark. They are vinyl. Cost including shipping and taxes was $428.00. Bought from these guys: http://stores.ebay.com/autointeriorkits/ (search for 'Porsche 928'). Was from testimonials on this forum that got me intrigued.

I visited this guys shop in Anaheim, wanted to see the sample Color in Champagne. The owner came out to greet me and gave me samples. Looked to be a very professional business. I was unsure about going with vinyl and installation so I passed and they didt offer leather . I'm reconsidering

That is a fine job of installation. I have these covers and am considering replacing them with the same (mine are old and shot in places, but still fit well).

Thank you. Lot of patience required.

That's interesting, you've installed a set of these covers a while ago? How long ago was that and how have they held up?

I apologize for not following up, I just had missed this. The covers were in the car when I bought it in '06, and looked like they had been recently installed. I have put almost 70K miles on it since then, and it is never garaged, unfortunately. The DS bolster has a hole in it, and the seams on the DS seat have partially separated. In other words, I think they have held up pretty well, and will consider replacing them with the same if I can't afford Mr Budd's at the time.

No, your seats are '85 MY or newer. If your seats are original it's likely entire car is early '85 MY first registered already in late 1984. '84 MY was last year for old style seats.

What some vendor calls brown and what else chocolate is different thing that what are correct color names given by Porsche. Porsche calls '83 MY brown simply brown. AFAIK there weren't interior color called chocolate available on any MY 928.
