Reproduction Door Tags/Stickers
Getting closer to repainting my 89 gt, and was wondering if there are Reproduction door tags/stickers available?
Do most just tape off, or just remove them?

I would try to keep the originals if at all possible, especially the VIN decal- getting replacements from Porsche is apparently spotty, and an obvious repro might make some buyers nervous (if that's at all a concern for you). Wick some goof off on the edges with the edge of a moistened Kleenex and slowly (!) work them up with a razor. Store flat between wax paper.
If you need a new paint sticker, the guys at Car-Bone do beautiful work-

Use something like benzene to remove the decal. It will dissolve the adhesive. Slowly peal up while applying the benzene with a small squirt bottle. Wear nitrate gloves (not latex). And well ventilated.

A little warmth from a heat gun works wonders when lifting the stickers. As Rob recommends, go very slowly and carefully.
Before you start removal, take some careful pictures of the stickers in place, with good ambient lighting and no flash. Lay a small scale (ruler) next to each one in your pictures so that, if you have to recreate them, you can get them to the exact size. Get location measurements too, and make a diagram with the locations relative to fixed locations so you can put them back where they are supposed to be.
Taping off stickers in the door jams ends up looking really cobby. If you are repainting in the original color, consider making your blend point at a body detail away from the stickers if the paint in that area is recoverable. It sees little sun there, so is generally in good enough shape to restore with polish and wax. Don't polish or wax the stickers, obviously.

Here it is currently. Do not really want to tape off as I know what it will look like. Just didn't know what is the accepted practice. If it wasn't a gt I wouldn't care.

My GTS was repainted, they feathered the new paint along the 'corner' of the outer doorjamb, along here:
Terrible picture from my GTS, but you get the idea, they look the same....

Thank you
Yeah I think I will try to lift the vin decal, the others I do not think are not worth saving.
Got to love valve cover projects gone wrong.

Are you changing color? If not...just don't paint that jamb. Back Tape at inside corner edge and blend as your pic shows...That paint rarely fades without sunlight. You can then re mop the paint surface when you do the orange peel. Just tape OVER the sicker with something not too strong.
Just a thought.
The emissions compliant sticker I doubt will "peel" off in one piece as the numbers are punched thru. Lots of areas to rip.

That barcoded inventory sticker... I remember someone mentioning a way to reproduce that. It's a common mailing-label size, originally generated on a dot-matrix printer. With a worn ribbon, at least on mine. Anybody know a good (free...) barcode program that will make those stickers?

I found most everything on the one linked reproduction site if I want to make stock again. Than again I don't know why I am trying to make it like new cause it won't be original. It's just money

Look up a company called Car Bone Liveries. Think they will be able to make exactly what you're looking for.
