A while you were in there project.

My smog pump on my S4 was rough. I just removed the belt, and not a big deal. Since It was so easy to inactivate it, but now I decided to take it apart. I searched, and did not find pics of what the inside looks like since I think most people just remove them.

Anyway, how can I get the front disassembled. I need to pull the front Pulley holder int he first picture. I am thinking I have to make a puller by screwing into the plate, and then using a center screw to pull it out.

I just checked and didn't take pictures when I was doing this.

What I did was bolt some thick washers to the plate with short M6 bolts. Then use a 3-jaw puller hooked under each washer for purchase. If you don't have handy washers, you could make some tabs with 6mm holes out of steel plate.
