Default Easter Egg Hunt Anyone? Need a part number...

I need help finding a part number. I've searched the PET at least 5 times with no joy, but I figure quite a few folks on this list have looked for the same part.

On the undercarriage just forward of the front wheel wells there are two rubber air deflectors. Mine have torn loose at the inboard mounts to the front cross member just aft of the oil sump and need to be replaced because the rubber ripped underneath the mount brackets and they're toast. I have no idea what these things are called. Near as I can tell they should be in the PET on illustration 802-10, 801-25 or 801-05, next to or on the same drawing as the front chassis and I think they attach to 928 501 031 04 (cross member), but I can't find them for love or money.

I'm sure they tear off all the time, mine got ripped off years ago going over some road hazard. I'd sort of like to replace them if I can figure out what they're called.

Any clues appreciated. I don't have a picture but I'll post one tomorrow if I can find a camera that works...

Wonder if these are 928 341 389 03 and 928 341 390 03 (L/R)?

Hummm. Or perhaps they are found on 401-00 items 17 and 17a

928 341 383 02 and 928 341 384 02 - left and right baffle plates.

I would go with this - please ignore my first post.

Cheers

Bingo. 17 & 17a. It didn't occur to me to search the suspension, I figured they'd be under "body" with the chin spoiler.

Best Regards,

For clarity, they're 17 & 17a, "928 341 389 03" - "Spoiler" rather than Baffle Plate, that's 16. But it's the right drawing!

Thanks again!

inboard mounts to the front cross member just aft of the oil sump
I'm confused- which crossmember? 'Aft' of the oil sump would be the crossmember that houses the steering rack. The other cross member is under the radiator, a foot or so forward of the oil pan.

Or are you talking about the rubber brake air deflectors mounted on the underside of the front lower control arms?

When I look at PET, I am seeing part number differences between the 85 and 86 model years. I believe the 86.5 is a bit different around the front end.

Your signature has model year 85. I would suggest confirming the part numbers before ordering. If you have PET loaded on your computer (the program, not the PDF files) you can enter your VIN to help confirm. I would do it but I have not reloaded the application since upgrading my computer

Cheers

Hacker, Rob & Glenn - no doubt the "brake deflectors" or (as my PET calls them) the "spoilers". I figured they were body parts, not suspension parts so I didn't look in group 4.

I don't have the PET program, just the PDF. I was looking at the 83-86 page but I'll double check before ordering.

So this is funny. AutoAtlanta has the parts, the passenger side is $20 more expensive than the driver's side! I guess that means if you run over a possum, make sure you do it on the driver's side...

These? At least in PET the part #'s are different between 86.0 and earlier, vs. 86.5-95.

Those are the ones. As it turns out, I have two of them already, I must have ordered them years ago and forgotten.

Does look like you might have an A/C compressor leak though, or is that just condensation off the evaporator?
