Unhappy Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and fuse and relay fixes

I hope everyone had a good holiday season. As per our usual habit, we traveled from beautiful snowy Wyoming to see our kids and grandkids in ugly wet Connecticut. A lot of fun even if it was not ski season on the east cost.

Now for a technical observation/question.

Car would not start but never care; I know what is wrong. The fuel pump is not working because the fuse and/or the relay are not passing juice. I replaced both of them and the car started right up. I believe the problem is associated with the fit of the items in the fuse/relay box. Right now, the relay does feel a little loose in the socket. I twisted the prongs a little to try to improve the "fit" but it still does not feel too good. Does anyone out there have a procedure that might improve the fit. This is obviously not a new issue as I have written a little about this before. Incidentally I did spray the contacts with the magic stuff.

Had similar issue, as I had a fuse that didn't seem to make good contact. I put a drop of solder on each of the blades, used an Emory board to smooth it out and it worked perfectly. Fit is snug and no troubles since.

Did you try a DeOxit enema?

Highly recommended by Stan.

Well if all else fails replace the terminals in the fuseholder and relay. A Fair amount of fiddly work but the relay terminals are available and fuse terminals can be cannibalized from salvage.
