Default Headlight dance

Not sure why but my headlight dash switch suddenly had only one position not two and if I switch it from off to on the headlights bounce up and down at about a cycle per second with no lights turning on. You want to get some strange looks try this headlight dance down a busy street - everyone points and laughs. So I remove the headlight switch and take it apart - DON't do this at home kiddies - Jeez, many tiny, I mean tiny, ball bearings that are spring loaded as well as several spring loaded contact points that have to all be compressed at the same time to reassemble the switch, all you need is 14 hands and the patience of a canonized saint to reassemble this sucker.
Well, I've spent about an hour trying to reassemble this switch and I'm gettin' nowhere, it's time for a drink or a sanity counsler.

No, I just think it's time for a new switch... I've been told that it's not unusual for them to fail. Fortunately I never had that experience...
