Default what is this for?

so the plates that have the tow eyes that the lower a arms mount to have been modified in my car.

the eyes have been bent over and a flat roundish plate has been welded on... why?

it is higher up than the spoiler.. cant be that...

also higher than alternator, etc

thats what i am thinking.. it is the same on both sides...

i am assuming it is for a jak point... i am urious about the small hole in the center of the plate.. aybe a locating hole?

drain hole so it doesn't gather a little puddle there to rust

i dont think so.... the topside of the plate is very flat, there is nowhere for the water to puddle

weird, it clearly has a Porsche part on it, but the quality of it, especially the welds, looks so bad. It looks like something home made, but it isn't.

edit - I see what you mean, it is a standard part that has been modified by someone. I cannot figure out why, or what that flat part is for.

the bracket IS a stock porsche part.

this is what the lower a arm bolts to.

normally the bracket has a hole in it that can be used to tow, etc.. there is one on each side of the front end.

On mine someone has bent the bottom section with the hole and welded a plate onto it (see last pick).

odd... i was hoping someone would know what this was for..

guess its a unique modification.
