Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible to measure the valve springs' condition/length of my Porsche 928S euro 4.7L engine.
According to the WSM you'll need the special tool 9138, but what if you don't have such a tool?

I measured the springs when not mounted, they all have a length of
about 56 mm or 2.2 inch.

You can also use a tool which measure the pressure of the spring and compare it to the stock specs.
