Default Rear Brake Dust Shield Compatibility

My '86 ( not 86.5) has been upgraded to S4 rear calipers. Been so for about a year.

When I did the upgrade, the OE rear brake dust shields needed a little clipping and bending to allow the S4 calipers to fit. No big deal, and they were already showing their age.

I would like to replace them now. Would the newer 86.5 or S4 shields bolt on directly, and fit with less "customization"?

Part numbers:

86
928-352-813/4-02
86.5
928-352-813/4-03
S4 89-
928-352-813/4-05

I looked at PET and can't really tell the difference. I am running original 86 rear wheel carriers

Rear brakes 86.5 US to 1995 are all the same so all should fit without mods.
Part number supersession 88 to 89 but I do not believe it would effect fitment.

Thanks Rog, but for clarification, will 86.5-95 shields mount to my '86.0 wheel carriers? Are the mounting hole locations the same?

Ken - I think you may have to try one to be sure. They both 85/86.5+ have the same six bolts and possible the same location holes. Locates to the wheel carrier IIRC and they are different 85/86.5. My call is they will fit.

Question

The good news is that the 928.352.813/4.04 has exactly the same bolt pattern as the 86.0 928.352.813/4.02

The bad news is that one of those bolts is going to be a little harder than the others.

Broken bolt.
