Default Instrument Cluster Pod brackets question

We are installing the instrument cluster/ pod of 91 GT and 87 S4.
Could not figure out the brackets for the 91 GT. Can anyone have a photo of the 91 pod brackets. The following brackets should belong to 91 but where exactly do they go . Thanks for all your help.

Is that a brand new dash, pod and steering wheel? Looks great.

Just an FYI - all model years have the same pod attachment system.

Do you have the workshop manual? It clearly identifies the install procedure.

Regarding the two brackets you show, the longer one is for the left side and the shorter for the right.

Have a look at the 7th- and 8th pictures in the 1st post of the following thread, for the S-shaped bracket :

https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...-ok-price.html

Though the smaller bracket in your picture actually goes in the upper right corner inside the pod (as viewed from the driver's seat), and accepts the long bolt that goes straight up through the lower bracket (medial to the ignition cylinder in Schocki's 8th picture). It is VERY fiddly to get that upper bracket oriented in the pod just so that you can get the long bolt threaded into it, once the pod is in place. Do-able, obviously, but fiddly.

Here's a pic of that bracket in a pod laid on its side- you can see how it 'bridges' between holding the bolt for the gauge cluster standoffs, and the threaded hole for the long mounting bolt that comes up from below:

Thanks for your responses. The pod and the steering wheel coloumn attachment points on the 87 and 91 are different so , are the brackets on87 and 91 the same? We have installed the 87 with only one small bracket over the ignition. So is this wrong? Does the 87 also has this big s shaped beacket? ı have the workshop manuals , searched but could not find that section. Could you kindly let me know which section number that is in? I have also looked at the pictures you mentioned. These belong to a gts and should be similar to the airbag dash 91 gt I guess. Thanks for your help.

I don't know about '87 vs. '91, but I would assume the brackets are different as the pods for airbag cars (90-95) are different than '89 and earlier pods. PET does a terrible job with the pod bracketry and I'm not aware of any documentation of the 90-95 brackets in the WSM.

The brackets on all 90 to 95 cars will be the same, so pics of a GTS setup apply to your '91s too.

Yes, it is covered with leather( it is called bentley leather here which has a different texture. Both cars will have 928 sport seats and all interior leather covered. Thanks

A tip that makes reinstallation easier:

Secure the threaded rubber assemblies (the things that the bracket attaches to, seen in Rob's photo above) within the instrument cluster with some tape. Makes it much easier to align the set bolts.

Yes that looks very nice indeed!

Also you should check if the "A" pillars can go on after the Dash, if I recall it was easier to do them first and less chance of damage to the top of that nice Dash
