Bass +3
Treble +5
Fade -R1
EQ Treble, 15000, Gain +4
EQ Mid, 2500, Gain +4
EQ Bass, 200, Gain +5
Loudness, ON

And I ran an 8" Alpine sup in the spare tire well, with an amp. So that helped to remove the bass load from the BT420's internal amp.

Basically I found that out of the box the unit was really suffering in the gain & punch department.

On a side note I just pulled the unit. Can't deal with the crappy display any longer. Its too bad cause the unit has great sound and the hands free works perfectly. And it was easy on the eyes.

Thanks for looking into that Adam, I thought there might be a gain issue with these decks. I pulled the front passenger side seat and i'm looking for ways to install the two amps I bought. I would like to fit the new amps where the original amp was because I think there is room for them and all the wiring is there too. But, I am concerned these amps will generate too much heat and this area as it will be enclosed. I also thought i could install them under the seat (passenger side) but im pretty sure there is not enough clearance for the seat to move...but I could be wrong.

If I was to use the original location I may have to come up with a way to vent the location or install a small fan unit to move air...

Not sure if it's enough ventilation, but I noticed when I was putting new carpet on that amp cover that the original is perforated, to allow for some ventilation. You could possibly even install a small fan, if you have room. The amp I got won't fit there though, so I just left the original one in there not doing anything.

On my S3 I had an Alpine deck and the Alpine 50w x 4 booster. That fit perfectly in the factory spot. Best buy has them on sale for $149.

There are amps that will fit. I wouldn't worry about heat unless you are listening at reference volumes all the time. Regular usage should not pose any issue. If anything the amps overheat circuit will just shut it down. If you wanted to get heat out of that area I would cut a hole in the top and place some sort of grill over it, to allow heat to rise up and out.

yes, I noticed the venting too. If i could get a small computer fan to draw air in...it might be enough to keep the amps a little cooler.

Hi Adam, apparently these little amps generate a lot of heat...that said i'm not listening to a lot of loud music...maybe some...but not a lot
