Default 84 US - where is heater valve

My heater blows fine, but doesn't heat. I'm pretty sure I don't have enough (or any) coolant flow through the core. Where is the heater control valve located on a 1984 928S?

PS say a little prayer that it's not bypassed because of a busted core.

The heater valve is right near the firewall, at the top rear of the engine on the right (passenger in North America) side. There are some pictures here: http://jenniskens.livedsl.nl/Technic...4/MyTip431.htm
as well as some tips. Search Rennlist for more info., this has been discussed many times before.

Unfortunately, the valve usually fails by not completely closing. It is possible that the PO disabled it to stop heat getting into the cabin in the summer.

Under the air filter box (must remove top & bottom). It is close to the center of the firewall/bulkhead area

Thanks guys. I found it and sure enough it was wired shut. I put it back together and now I have heat. I'll deal with AC in March. Haha

Aaron if your messing with the HCV I would suggest to replace it with a fresh unit as well as replacing the short hose dont over tighten the clamps.
This is the weak link in the coolant system so you want the parts to be fresh so you dont have a blowout
