Why are you keeping the auto and selling the five speed?
That is pretty easy to answer - the early manual gearbox is a real pig along with all the issues with weak syncros. The three foot long gear shift also did not help. Whereas the 3 speed auto was silky smooth and far better. In fact so good you only ever need second gear.

ahem. Next year at Frenzy you take Blumaxx for a spin (prior to cocktails of course), then let me know if you think this is still true

If I was only able to keep one of mine, I'd keep my manual.
So just curious if there's a story behind that decision...

How many miles are on it? (didn't see that mentioned anywhere).
We're looking for an affordable manual (project) for my son...
Odometer is broken, actual mileage unknown. IIRC from the Carfax it broke shortly after 120k. Can't remember right off what year that was. I'm keeping the auto because it's a complete minger that needs to be completely redone. I've been hesitant to tear down the 5pd for a resto because its a solid driver.

Lol. Agree 100%, it felt like shifting a tractor. That said, the Lizard shifter shortened the throws nicely.

I love my 3 foot shifter and would never put in a short one - the distance from the wheel to the shift **** is the key - very short reach with the long shift lever. Look at the relationship between the shift **** on the Carrera GT and the steering wheel - about the same as on my car. With the CGT, Porsche raised the center consol, and shortened the lever.

And used morse-style cables rather than a shift rod. With the cute little Japanese transmissions, they work quite well.

I kind of like this car, but can you post a picture of the wife and something about her "mileage" so I can decide?

(I'm kidding too.)

added video/photos. What a difference two hours can make in how well a car runs.
