Thanks MrMerlin. Your (and John Speake's) explanation makes sense. I can see the snap ring just under the rubber in the pics.
It looks like my winter "to do" list just got longer...
And more expensive.
Does the kit Greg sells include everything?

went out driving tonight and got about 1 mile down the road and started to smell gas ,
I pulled over shut it off and took a peek at the injectors ,
Looks like the hose clamps need some more tightening the hose clamp on one of the injectors was tightened and the leak stopped ..
Soo make sure to double check the clamps after the road test

well more update info.
the OAT dropped to a low of 10F and upon a cold soak then a start the unclamped fuel injector hoses on the barb sides of the fuel rails began leaking.
Note I found this as iI had let the car run unattended for a few mins,
then when I got into it I smelled fuel vapors and then immediately shut the engine off and investigated.
This new Green hose isnt as pliable when it gets really cold, so adding clamps is now suggested as opposed to simply pushing the hose onto the barbs and fitting the hose cups.
I will update this thread if any more changes are found, otherwise the engine runs great and the idle is quite smooth. and I had fresh ignition wires

I got everything from from Greg including the hose and clamps. I'm not sure what injectors these are other than they are new 24 lbs-ers. As seen here, I clamped the hose on both ends which is what Stan is going to do to stop the leaking.

You should use 7mm EFI hose.

John the normal length hose minus about 13 to 15 MM.
POPO it would be nice to see the ends of the injectors

FWIW the reason to cut the hat rim off the pintle cap is so the injector will fully press into the manifold,
with the seat rim in position the O ring will not form a good seal as the rim will be holding the injector out of the bore of its seat,
Every installation should be fit checked prior to adding fuel
