Default Zinc Dichromate (Yellow Zinc) Bolt Kit Now Available

I've had requests for something like this and finally was able to source many of the right sizes for a reasonably priced kit.

I had many of the same in bolts in stainless steel kits a while back, but they didn't sell very well since many folk like the look of OEM yellow zinc.

It's Yellow Zinc Dichromate finished, all metric, 8.8 hardness, 6MM and 5MM.
390 Pieces.
Available here $84

Nice.... if you could, you should add the cam cover bolts and washers to it.
swap out with a core charge.

Yes and since I'm undertaking a powder coat of intake, what about a package that includes valve cover bolts and intake and associated items, like the accelerator bracket that attaches to the intake?

What's in the kit? Does it cover an engine rebuild for certain models and years?

It's a nice collection of M5 and M6 hardware, but there's a lot more M8, M10, and specialty hardware that would have to be included. It would be a nightmare to put together a kit. Much easier to pull your engine, throw every piece of platable hardware in a bucket, and send it off to be plated.

Bolt kits are available for a lot of engines. I'd like a set of new, clean bolts to go along with the rest of the work when rebuilding an engine.

The list of what is in the kit is here.

No. Its just a collection of some of the more common nuts, bolts, and washer s used throughout Porsche cars.

At 2x Woudsma speed, which is .75 my speed, it took 2hrs down to intake and VC's.

Taking no prisoners..elbows be flyin with an electric drill just to get the parts off (intake only), with no thought to re-install on the parts car in question.

I hate the VC's coming off in the bay...ugh.

The hassle with swapping out yellow zinc hardware is that you have to do _all_ of it. So the throttle quadrant, A/C bracket, airpump bracket, alternator tensioner, flappy solenoid body, etc really ought to come off. And that would make a kit kind of tricky, since those bits are expensive.

Then there's the fuel dampers, and the metal part of the fuel lines, and the A/C condensor brackets, and the hood latch, and, and, and,

When the Cobalt car gets here I'll take notes on how long it takes to strip everything that's gonna get replated and how big a pile of metal it becomes.

Thanks for picts, good to know what some of the bits are in my buckets of bits I've collected.

Looking around online I've seen both Zinc and Cadmium dichromate fasteners, which kind are factory type?
