Default Replacing green wire

Hi all,

Is there a way to replace the green wire without having to reset the timing on the distributor?

I just did the one in my track car, and want to do the one in my street car, but would rather not disturb the dissy timing if I can.

use a marking pen draw a line from the housing to the dist housing then turn the dist housing
if you do this at TDC then the rotor should still line up at the hash mark

I did mine a month ago and was able to leave the distributor in place an get to the green wire hold down plate screws using an off set screw driver.
