Default My next 928...

So I've got a committed buyer for my 91 S4. Going to a great home.

Now for the reveal...

1989 S4 5-Speed w/ LSD rear...

Platinum Anodized wheels (they go faster... )
82K miles

2 owners--the 2nd owner has had the car since 1990-with just a few thousand miles. Garaged all the time and all service.

Obv. paint issues on manifold; possibly original fuel lines. Full records from day 1. Need AC fixed/recharged.

Very nice! The 928 you should have purchased the first time around!

The 89 5-spd S4 is a special car.. taller gearing than a GT, plus all the right goodies earlier S4's didn't get, like higher compression pistons, electric cruise control actuator, dash cluster with good lighting, and more sound deadening foam behind the panels. LSD is nice too, makes a big difference, especially on tight hairpins where sometimes one rear wheel is light on traction.

Wait, you're selling a red car to get a black one? Bad choice

The last 2 times the wife said "but I may want to drive it..." She can't drive a stick...then she decided she didn't want to drive it even with an automatic and I will not teach her to drive a stick...

I'll get her a convertible in the spring with Tiptronic or PDK...

So I've had an 89 in white-auto with the best seats....91 S4 which I chased in red...and now back in Black!!!

Michael,

Looks great. Having had an '89 S4 manual for several years, I'm a bit biased, but I think it is a great model/year for the car.

I have a great set of silver grey/black piping seats - 12 way power heated (sometimes works!) that would really enhance that car! Removed them from my '94 to install the supple leather cork seats.

Congrats, great choice! Is that a working CD-2?

At least the radio works.

If you have it-I'll take it. I have the p/n for it.

I assume it fits the same-pm sent.

I found it 2 weeks ago. AutoTrader alert came up--no pictures and no price-just the VIN. Did the VIN lookup and said-hmmmmm.....

A few calls, texts and some pictures later, made the offer (it was on consignment) and an hour later, they accepted.

Still sitting in Chicago. Don't have time to drive it back and need to finish cleaning the garage and selling my car (next month). So it's safe in storage and then will either drive or ship.
