For those of you who dont remember, this was Dan Larson's car. He and his buddy (name escapes me) were part of the Sharktrip crew. They made several of the earlier SITM's. I helped them with a shop recommendation back in 2008, they had a shifter cup failure on the way back.
Car was stunning the last time I saw it, but it definitely was a driver not a museum piece - which is my kind of car.
I shot him an email last night, and he is planning to let the auction run. I was kind of hoping that I could sneak up there with a trailer since its only a couple hour drive and get a good deal on it. I guess I am in the auction game with the rest of you guys.
Rob, if you wanna bid before then, let me know and I'll go check it out. I need something to do tomorrow afternoon
Glad I didn't completely scare you off of 928s permanently.... Thanks for the offer, let me see if that could be arranged.
$15.5 for a non-running GT?? Sure hope it's a relay and not a broken timing belt that's the reason for the non-running condition ...
From what I can see this one doesn't need a full respray, so even if it is a broken TB, so what? There are several people monitoring this auction with multiple engines' worth of spare parts and the money and wherewithal to make it run again in the comfort of their own garage. All it takes is two interested bidders, and I count at least 4.

The owner stated that the car was parked in 08 and he wouldn't try starting it again w/o changing the timing belt, water pump, new battery, fluids etc. No mention of a broken timing belt but of an owner that realizes the risks of starting a 928 that has sat this long with an interference engine.
"It is a non running car, it might be able to start right up considering how tough these cars are but it's not worth trying after sitting for 6 years. It needs a battery, fresh fluids and the timing belt and water pump should probably be changed before trying to turn it over."
I don't see how you can infer that it is a non runner due to a broken timing belt.
