I need to replace the seal that goes all the way around the perimeter of the driver's side door. Do I just pull the old one off and put the new one in along the slot for it? Any type of adhesive to remove and replace? Thanks!

No adhesive.
It will come as one piece and unless you feel the need to pull the door off and remove the wiring harness, snip the new seal at the point where it would intersect the door at the most front point. Where the door arresting point is. If you are worried about moisture at that point, glue it back together.

a few drops of superglue on the cut seal edges will make the joint perfect.
I make the cut along the bottom edge of the door

Pretty sure all the replacement seals now are the 'late' type ('91 and up) that include the little extra flap along the outer edge, so you may get a little reduction in wind noise when you put it on.
