Default S4 Vibration

I have an 1989 S4. Is it normal for this car to vibrate when on? Lets say you turn the car on and hop inside and you can feel it vibrate. I did an intake and valve cover refresh.

Is a vibration normal ? I would say yes, as long as there are possible misfiring issues, or collapsed engine or tranny mounts, or bad TT bearings. A vibration is most likely a symptom of something in need of repair. Normal in most 928's suffering of deferred maintenance.

You need motor mounts.

Isn't a small amount of vibration on cold start normal? I've also convinced myself that a slight ticking/knocking sound after sitting for a few days is normal, too...?

A slight engine vibration is probably to be expected, but if the vibrations are sever enough to warrant concern then I would suspect there may be underlying issues. Is it harmonic, does it change at different RPMs?
Could be motor mounts, could be a single issue, or a combination of more than one thing. There are several threads relating to vibration issues here. You need to just try to discount the known issues first.
