Default '79 Euro - passenger's side engine bay, unknown connector

Not the the 14 pin connector!

I've been slowly going over my rescue project and have found an open connector that I'm unsure of. It is located above the passenger's side cylinder head, near the cam belt cover. It is a single lead connector and is anchored to a black wire.

Please ignore the red "Goodyear" hose; it's a leftover from the prior owner's mechanic. At this point I've managed to go from "no start / no run / leaks everywhere" to "runs at idle and drips occasionally" and am slowly working my way towards "drives around the block and doesn't leak anywhere". I'm taking my time, but slowly getting there.

I have already replaced all of the soft fuel and vent lines around the fuel tank and pump, replaced the fuel pump and strainer, cleaned the grounds, mostly verified the ignition system, and recovered the paint from "eyesore" to "looks great from 10 feet". Next up are the CIS and vacuum systems.

Pics of the mystery connector: Where this lead should be connected? Thanks in advance!

That's the AC compressor charge wire.

No worries then, this car has AC delete! At least for now .. adding AC is something I am considering despite the huge amount of work it will be. Summer is humid enough here that no AC would limit the car's use to spring, fall and cool summer evenings.

I appreciate your concern, and have considered it. That said, I just tested the resistance of the green wire last last evening (per the factory service manual) and it was well within spec. I know that even then, the green wire can still be a problem, but since the car starts and runs, and it's obvious the the prior owner's mechanic has been messing with the idle screw (which was screwed almost all the way out), ignition timing (set with way too much advance), and many other things, I want to verify both the vacuum and CIS systems before moving on to more subtle problems.

Thanks for the help!
