I finally made the trip to CA to retrieve the Brown 79 that I had bought last fall. I wasn't able to do it spring break so the family did not get to go and Arizona was not included in the trip except for the 40 or so miles through the Virgin River Canyon on I 15.

I made a stop in St Geo Utah to deliver the GTS rear wing to Murf and to sell him a new Cowl
Cover for his 79. Then I stopped on LV NV and traded my early Sport Seats for the green comfort seats Mark had. He was there for a trade show and had shipped his seats there from CA. The next day I made it to Anaheim and picked up the Wintercult wheels and tires I had bought from Mark A. Then back to Victorville where I hooked the trailer back up and loaded the Brown 79 and stayed overnite with my friends there.

On Sunday I left with the car loaded in the trailer and went to Lucerne Valley and bought/traded for a pair of late sport seat cores from Michael. Then headed for home which was at that point only about 700 or so miles away. I got home about 10pm Sunday evening.

The Brown 79 is still loaded in the trailer, so when I am able to unload it I try to get some pictures to post. It looks a lot better than I remember; and I even wondered if my friend John might have washed it. He did tell about him and his son Steve burning some rubber with it up and down their runway. I think they were kidding. He also told me about a couple of offers to buy it. His new tenant asked how much I wanted for it and John simply told him he could not afford it.

More later.

I finally got the brown 79 unloaded, but didn't have my camera, so no pictures yet. Before I put it inside for a while I drove it around the block a couple of miles or so and could see just how badly it runs. However, I think it is firing on all cylinders, just not in the correct sequence. It seems to be firing in the exhaust system much of the time. That suggests to me that the spark plug wires may be mixed up.

I was gone for the weekend picking up the 85 Euro in Indy, so now that I am back I'll check out the ignition wires to see if that is where the problem is.

Well, that was a bonus. I found #1 and #3 mixed up. I took some others off too, but think I ended up putting them back where they came off. Anyway. it roared to life, runs smooth, and sounds real good. Thanks everyone about the advise about the Fuel Distributor and thanks Rich A for the offer of a set of fuel injectors. Now I am down to some regular maintenance, some minor paintless dent repairs and a little interior adjustment and I will be driving it some.
