MY85 hard brake pedal-coasting stop
Been a month or so since I've had the car out. I think the brakes were behaving OK previously - maybe not perfect - but certainly not unsafe. So I planned to take a drive and definitely when pulling out of the garage I noticed a hard pedal to stop the car. By the end of my 120 mile one-way journey, I had to seriously stand on the pedal to get the car to coast to a stop. No grinding, the pads have some meat left and the rotors look to be OK. I made it home OK, but won't be back on the road until I get this resolved.
Ideas as to where to start would be appreciated.

Amazing result, braking substantially improved. Engine runs way stronger, idle has improved, even the bloody volt meter is healthy again. Obviously I had a vacuum leak. My next task is to replace all the vac lines, I found a great thread on rennlist for that.
Is it possible you have a vacuum leak? Hose and valve replacement is low cost. Might want to consider this as step one of problem resolution.
