Default Easy fix for 1988 no start

Parked my 88 on Friday night, was running strong, getting better and better with time and slow repairs. A great feeling!

Saturday morning. Cranks….and cranks. No smell of gas. Battery tender says battery is 80%+. Retry after charge is 100%. Cranks but no start. Crap. time to search reenlist.

After searching all the threads I have my attack plan, pages of printouts, bag of relays, jumper wire, and prepping the wife for an evening of wrenching and swearing from the garage.

Try fix number one. Disconnect battery. Clean contacts. Reconnect. Cranks, stumbles (flooded from previous cranks), fires on first try!

I guess the LH computer resets, and I'm sure you reenlist gurus know why (i'd love to know).

All I gotta say is THANKS RENNLIST! SEARCH IS YOUR FRIEND!:reckon:

87 s4 aut.

i hate to be a downer, but in my experience with porsches you need about 1 month of starts etc to officially say its fixed.

not even 2 weeks. i had a whole lot of different porsches and even 2 weeks i thought i fixed a problem and it reared up again.

you dont want a no start and then have to tow so my advice would be to drive it only locally until that one month trial period is over.

you may have indeed solved your problem, but again thats the beast of intermittent issues at least in my experience
