I am thinking about upgrading my system to push the new speakers I have in my 81 to their maximum potential.
I found 2 very compact amps and am wondering if anyone has tried them as the amp I have is from '98 and only has 80 watts peak.
Amazon.com : NVX MVPA4 Micro-V Series 400W RMS 4-Channel Bridgeable Micro Class D Compact Car Amplifier (MVPA.4) : Electronics
These seem very easy to hide as they actually fit in the stock amp mounting position and actually under the seats and seem to be fairly priced for compact amps that can produce so many watts.
All opinions are welcome. Thank you

Yep, they are in the back. These amps are so small I could use double sided tape and stick them behind the tool panel.I want to add a sub (downfiring) so hat I can still use the cargo area as I can rest things on top of one of those enclosures.
Downfiring enclosures look like a black box compared to a normal sub which can be easily seen. They look like this
The main reason I want one of these is because they are easy to hide compared to other amps I have seen.
I use my car as a DD and don't want some one to break in because they see some good speakers in the back like a lot of other people have.
I also posted these links as they could be alternatives to now discontinued compact amplifiers and wanted some feedback to see of anyone has them.

Compact amplifiers will be sacrificing some audio quality, so I'd only go that small if I were staying with the OEM location. I recently installed an Alpine PDX-V9, which is reasonably compact, but very good. It's a five channel amp, so would power your front and rear speakers, plus a sub.
The Amazon link gives no real information about the amplifier's output power or quality (e.g. THD). Remember, lies, damn lies and amplifier power numbers

BTW, I also installed a spare tire subwoofer. It's not the most powerful, but provides enough bass for me, whilst being completely hidden. I disabled its internal amp and drove it from the PDX-V7.

Thanks for the links rnixon. That sub is CHEAP at $50. I just prefer a larger hertz range than it could probably provide.
That amp is a little rich for my budget as I am a 18 year old college student. Is there a quality amp that you know of for ~$200? I only need it to really drive 2 component speakers and a 300 watt RMS sub.
Thanks for the replies guys.
