Got to remove my stock steering wheel so I can install the cool 930 three spoke I got from Seth. Anybody have any ideas?

Turn wheel 90 degrees from center (engine running for power assist), shut off engin and settle wheel at 90 degrees. dissconnect battery at ground, Remove horn center, disconnect ground wire in steering wheel hub. Use long extension and socket on nut holding steering wheel on to shaft, (do not change position of wheel when you do this). Carefully remove nut from steering hub. Wiggle and remove steering wheel. Look over the turn signal actuator on the old wheel and the new wheel. if they are not EXACTLY alike, do a horn ring-ectomy and transplant. Horn wire connectors are apt to be incompatable, surgery may be needed here also. Install new wheel at same 90 degree position as old wheel was removed. be gentle with the turn signal bits on the collumn. Most of this is straight forward and obvious.........no other tricks that I know about.
I did the AJ USA 930 wheel. looks great and feels even better.....

Gretch,
Thanks for the help! I'll have to archive this one though, since my vacation got canceled do to crisis (can you believe the crap I put up with) at work. I didn't even get to take a road trip before returning. However I did get some local time in the sharks, Drove'em like I stole 'em. I also got a chance to install the 8" H4 headlights 928 Intl was kind enough to sell me, along with a few other items Helmut needed.

Gretch is right on.
Just did this, piece of cake. If you have problems, send me a personal message. I'd be happy to talk you through it. I did have to use adapter and swap the turn signal actuator (re-use original). Connections were no problem since I did the swap. Don't think your '86 is any different from my '87. You'll be thrilled with the result.
