Default 86.5+ Your tire wear experience, offsets,

Hi guys,
I havent had my project on the road yet. Engine running well, TB fuel lines done etc.
I have a set of Cup 1 mille miglia front et 52, rear et 47 and now believe the offset is a tad low. Ie should be 55+. I read here that new tires would compensate the tramlining for about 5000 miles. Well i dont want to buy tires for wheels that wont last very long and then have to change everything.

So i guess my questions are,

What are your long term experiences with such offsets?

If i hold out for Panamera wheels, 8" front et 59, how long do tires last on wider wheels but bigger offsets?

I appreciate your thoughts,

Kind regards,

JB

1st question is how is alignment? wheels don't matter if alignment is bad?

I had an 88S4 street....bought a set of Carrera 3 (997) 18" wheels with stock tires....235/40-18 front and 265/40-18 rear....while too tall in the rear for a 928 it looked great and ran well.... handled well with stock alignment too

I agree alignment is key.
How many miles do you get out of the tires?

im concerned with the possibility of burning through the inner edge of the rear tires in about 10k miles
