Simple question 02 sensor
Reno-
Check your engine computer. If you have a "Euro" or ROW car, then the LH computer part number should end with either "123.00" or "123.02".
I suspect that a lot of ROW cars in the United States have US model computers installed in mistake. My car is this way, and I've commissioned John Speake to [experimentally at this point] burn me a copy of the correct chip, thus effectively changing my computer to the correct one.
The US model cars had an "oxygen loop", which was primarily a system that fine-tuned the mixture during normal driving in order to make the catalytic converter more effective/efficient. It did not improve performance, but nor did it hurt performance either. IF you have a US computer mounted in a "Euro" car without an O2 sensor hooked up, you are probably running around in some sort of "standby" mode, since the computer might not know precisely what to do. I don't believe the ROW cars had any sort of O2 sensor to begin with, so if you have the correct computer, then you cannot even hook one up if you wanted to.
I think. I'm not an expert...all this is what I've been led to believe by various posts on this forum.

Reno,
A standard '84 Euro S was never fitted with an O2 sensor as standard. If your car has one, then it's an afterfit
Normy has given the correct ECU number to check for.
Does your car have an O2 sensor and cats ?
Your car is different to any US model, it is a 16v LH eqipped. Never had an O2 sensor or loop, to the best of my knowledge

John and Normy, Yes, it is the LH hot wire set-up. Upon looking at my LH computer, the numbers read 928 618 124 00. These numbers do not match up to the numbers posted by Normy. What does this mean? Do I have an American LH box? Thanks, Reno
If I am not mistaken that's the PN for the EZK ignition module. I get these mixed up all the time too. Here's theway I tell them apart: the EZK has a vacuum tube attached near the top of the box (on my '85 Euro)...the LH module does not.
