Default 1985 Speedometer reads high

Hello, I have read up on other posts that some of the speedometers in the 928 either read high or low and might need calibration. I would test with my GPS, but not sure the time delay between my GPS and the satellite is a good reference point to judge if it's good or not. I will test with my wife driving the other vehicle just to compare at 110 km/h just to see.

Yes i do understand that any speedometer is never accurate to 100 %.

Does anybody have suggestions for a shop to do this calibration here in the Ottawa region ?

This car is completely stock wheels and all. My goal is to keep it as close to original as possible.

Thank you in advance.

If you are at a steady speed on the freeway - your GPS should be extremely accurate - why not do that.

Since the error is a % you are better doing this at high speed (as high as is safe/legal?) - this will minimise the reading error (of the speedo and the GPS location accuracy).

110 KPH is a bit slow (<70MPH) - if you can go faster it would be better for accuracy.

Yes I hear you it is slow, but I don't want to do like that Autotrader commercial of the guy who bought a Ferrari and keeps getting pulled over by the police. LOL

Thank you for the tip and I will try at 140 kph or 150 which would be 84 mph or 90. Since it's better to have someone read the GPS while I drive, I will not go with my wife, she will flip out !!! I will have to go with someone else. LOL
