I saw this. I had same reaction. Mario does appear to be a fan of the 928.

At least they acknowledged the timing belt, unlike the Wheeler Dealer episode.

Shows like this cause problems because you get copycats thinking they can do it themselves. Comments like "I watched a YouTube video about this..." from customers are the bane of a mechanics existence these days.

Also i was like :O when he said he wanted 8.5 for that POS S4... mother of Mary! Edit: nevermind, it's a GT...

Wheeler Dealers job is to flip cars, there's no sense of ethics when flipping cars. Plus hey, if i flip a car with a known issue i say they desserve it anyways, should have done their research before buying it. Not my job to educate you about the history of the car you're buying.

Hey! Way to mar the hell out of that FL caliper!

Did you guys see the hologramming all over it at the end? What a terrible cut and buff job...

I didn't have any problem with this Classic Cars Rescue show or the Wheeler Dealers show. It's entertainment and that's it. Both are not DIY shows and if you take it that they are, then you're a fool.

Beside the staged drama such as the power going out mid re-spray, not having ANY front seats in the GT but do having pretty decent Sport Seats in a parts only (if that) car and a struggle with the alarm system, they seemed to truly appreciate the 928 and what it could do. There always has to be some drama in these shows to keep most people interested.

I didn't take that they put it down and I don't take it as a DIY show. They can skim the surface of most cars and just showed some problems that you can get into with a used, uncared for 928. Even the best taken care of, concours level of our 928's have the occasional problem, right?

I wish for more shows incorporating the 928 into them. I enjoy the "Entertainment". Then I can go into my garage knowing I can put the air filter in the correct direction AND experience the REAL drama of my 928!

But there was so many flaws, the seats didn't really look to be that well done, the paint had hologramming all over the place and a few random flaws i couldn't tell what they were (something in between the rear bumper lettering), it had to be wetsanded and was probably a cheap single stage job, clearly none of the rubber/plastic parts in the engine bay were even touched. That's why it was only appraised at 13K... for a GT that has a fresh paint job and upholstery, that's pretty damn low IMO. The appraiser probably didn't pay much attention to the undercarriage cleanliness or originality (belly pans, no hack mods), it now has a FL caliper that is all banged up from dimbbulb hammering the hell out of it. With expensive rare fixed calipers like that, i would have drilled it out, and for those that say you can't drill hardened steel bolts like that, you can, you just need to buy the $15/piece solid carbide or cobalt drill bits.

It's just a **** off because somewhere down the line someone's going to have to do it properly.
