Yes, he's in Diamond Bar, CA
The quality of the work and the leather used both looked very good. Had the dash arrived wiout the rub spots from his shipped not wrapping it properly, I certainly would have kept it and it's also why I placed a 2nd order for additional items with him.

I know people using paypal that can make a very big butchery with a carburettor from a italian 2 stroke 50cc bike .....you need to be such an idiot to ruin one of that)....
And I know Claudio , named " chineta" .This man has only an old phone at home.
he's 78 now and he's a good mechanic, now retired.
2 years ago a limo took him from home to the airport , he had a paid ticket to Florida.
another limo took him to airport to the garage of another friend (he buys a lot of furniture from me, he asked me the phone number and then told me the history ) with a problem with his Ferrari 330 P4.
Claudio doens't speak nothing about foreign Language , except"Hello", but he gesticulated to start the engine and push throttle. after 10 seconds told him to stop engine. one allen key, one flat screw driver , the palm of his hands as vacuometer then used ears to "decide"ifengine is running ok.told him to restart the car.after 15 minutes he restored the tune of this 12 individual throttle injection back to normality.
This man is the man who firstly tuned carbs of my old BMW E3 3,3L automatic,2 days of work but he gave me back carbs after 3 and a half months. No complain from me if the work is spot on. This man worked for the Ferrari Team, but told that Enzo Ferrari broke ***** too much for his taste and went away.
cars are different , stories are different, only one thing is important to me: You need to be able to do your job if you are dealing with me. paypal access , prompt replies by emails, delivery times blablablah on the phone ....and other things are bull****.
Does the work of Billbj3 (or whatever nickname) worth the wait?everyone has his own verdict.

I got it - quality work is worth waiting for...
I'm fine with that but also need timely communication so I can properly manage this build with the multiple businesses that are doing the work for me. In my opinion, there's no reason that quality of workmanship and excellent communication have to be mutually exclusive - there can be both, which is how I run my business and what I expect from others as well.

So this guy does 928 interiors? Have we seen his work? Not that I'd have him do anything for me since Rob Budd does such great work, in a timely manner and has great communication skills.

if you are waiting for your daily car this is disappointing and cause of anger. if it's your 2nd-3rd car(from your signature the 928 could the th umpteenth car, big envy from me) you can moan as much as you want ...to no avail.

If I was doing all the work on the 928 myself, waiting would be upsetting, but less important. However this car is being built in stages and multiple shops and they've scheduled it for the time that should be required for each stage, so it taking 2 months and longer on some of the items is effecting multiple timelines. Luckily most of the interior work is a later stage but the A-pillar gauge holder needs to be delviered to the shop installing the supercharger so all that can be installed and tested before the car leaves their shop. William was notified about this one piece being higher priority than any of the others, but they still don't have it back.
YEs,In business.if you buy/overhaul/resell cars you're right.

Regardless of the quality of your work, or the whimsical nature of how you conduct your business, once you have taken someone's money, you are now contracted to perform. Keep the excuses and BS, and deliver....or not.
I had a run-in with a prominent member of this forum where the promises went on for months. Heck, I even forgot about having ordered the item, and had I truly forgotten, I bet you that I would never have seen the part to this day. 'It is being shipped' was even offered and nothing appeared. Finally, after extending enough patience, I requested a refund of my payment, and he even busted my 'you know what' over that, citing that his books were closed for the year, and I'd have to wait a few weeks until the funds could be remitted.
And, of course, it these folk's minds, we (the buyer) are always wrong.
Once I found Roger, you could almost hear the angels sing. A quality individual whom you can trust implicitly. Stray from Roger at your own peril.....

I have read his posts on the "other" forum. I believe he simply found a good local craftsman and farms out all the work. Not that there is anything wrong with that but it adds a wrinkle to his business model.
So many have tried to profit from the hobby, this is not a bad thing but the hobby will quickly grow into a business with all the headaches that go along with it. The "big" players in the parts market understand this and dedicate the time and resources to make it all work. The little guys get in over their head and good intentions go south.....
Communication and honesty are key.
I don't know willbj3 nor do I mean to insinuate anything nefarious. Just my .02
