Heading out in a couple of days for a great car vacation, the Monterey festivities and the Pebble Beach Concours de'Elegance. Anybody else going to be there? I know there is a Porsche Werks reunion this coming Friday, and I plan to attend in the afternoon. Any other good Porsche parties?
I will be with friends from my old haunt in Montana; and they are taking their Pantera. I am going to some of the Italian car events, but would like to know of good Porsche events.
Trip to USA aug 2014
Yes! My holidaytrip to the USA has been confirmed! Starting in Seattle and gradually travelling south to visit the Pebble Beach concours and Laguna Seca (any Porsche activity there?) and finally leaving again from LA

I will be at the Werks reunion with Mark (grandprixweiss) who will be showing his 928. Then hanging out at a few of the auctions, probably Russo and Steele for sure Fri eve and Sat. Come by and check us out.
Yep Ill be there with Don (chalkboss) working the Russo and Steele auction thurs/fri/sat nights, Werks Reunion with my 928 ( white one) all day friday, Saturday some other things/meets/show, and then Sunday to Pebble Beach. might check out Mecum on Saturday and then Bonhams sunday night.
Cool; hope to see you guys Friday. I'll be hitting Goodings auction. Doing Pebble Beach Sunday morning as well.We have a pretty full slate Th/Fri/Sat/Sun.
I am really getting stoked for Monterey. Some very fine cars up for auction at Russo and Steele. I'm particularly fond of the Jag E types lately. There are three or four of them coming across the block. If nothing else the auctions are a great place to see cars up close.
Anybody going to McCalls's on Wednesday night? I have to go for work and will be up there sans P-car but would love to meet any fellow Rennlisters that are there.
Used to go every year (lived in Santa Cruz and then in SF).
Last time I went was '98 for the Fiftieth anniversary of Porsche. The hotel price gouging was unbelievable.
There are very few routes between venues in Monterey - and any attempt to go anywhere was met with gridlock. Granted, it was a gridlock of Ferrari's, Maserati's, Lamborghini's, Bentley's and Porsche's among other exotics, but it was still gridlock.
I know it's the curmudgeon in me, but as Yogi Berra once said: "nobody goes there anymore, it's too crowded."
