Ah yes, the brains. Good point regarding controls to manage traction, etc.
And it is more fast than quick. Still pretty quick, but more fast.
;-)
Hacker, can you post the link to the buld thread for Slate and others?
Good time for some publication to do a few vignettes on 928 ubermachines. Six speeds, LS engines, pair of cars with twins, bevy of forced induction cars. Strokers. Speed run cars. Lots of mayhem going on in addition to the customary track cats.

Awesome. Simply awesome.
I'm probably mixing up which is which, but that tree is I believe a "pro" tree (one yellow then go), which makes launching on green especially hard given the set up. When using the other tree, the name of which escapes me, it has two yellows before the green, instead of one. I always launch on the second yellow (because of the momentary delay between your brain thinking something and the foot actually reacting). And my RTs are usually .5 or less.
What oil is he using

Sorry....forgot to post the slip before. It has been added to the first post.
In past trips to the strip where he was just working on the launch, he managed a 1.6 in the 60'. He's trying to get back there with a full run.
Funny....thinking back to that test run he tapped the brakes before the finish line and still managed a run in the 11's at 130+mph.
Kind of, the rears have a band added to the middle to make them 10" wide
There wasn't a built thread for this car / motor, just this page documenting everything in photos:
http://www.erik27.com/todd/turbo/index.htm
All the fluids in his car are from this company:
http://www.lelubricants.com/index.html
The 20w-50 is not synthetic.
I'm slowly moving all my vehicles over to their fluids as I run out my currently supply.

With 2.20 gears, 315/45/16 tires, 8500 rpm limit, and 1:1 in the trans, "mathematically" the car could go 312 MPH!!
Even with a "low" 6500 RPM's in top gear, say due to wind resistance, that still would put this car at 238 MPH!!
Yikes. Not sure I would want to do that on drag radials lol. The temperature rise for the tire would be CRAZY at those speeds.......
Edit: I cut this from an article talking about drag radials:
"The other main grade is temperature resistance. This is actually a fairly important detail for a drag tire. The temperature of a tire increases as speed and time at that speed increases. These are portrayed in A, B, and C. This is different from the speed ratings, which measures speed. All tires in the US must be rated at a C or better, which means the tire is capable of 85-100 MPH without damage. B rating is 100 to 115, and A is over 115 MPH. Of course, while a drag radial is capable of handling well over 100 MPH, it is not capable of these speeds for long durations. It would not be advisable to drive a car on drag radials at elevated speeds as the temperature build-up could cause them to fail in a spectacular fashion, and that would not be good for anyone."
So, throw on some Veyron tires and hit the Salt Flats!! They make those in 16" wheel sizes right?
