Default Hey Electric Guru's

OK, so..

I have a data logging function with my Mega Squirt. it has an LED to show that logging is ready, flashes when you press the button (which i wired in to my spare switch on my Hans/paul one touch panel)

i would like to wire the LED or light in to the stock lights in the car some how.. maybe the OSX green on the dash, or the seat belt light. But the issue i run in to is the LED stays on CONSTANT and flashes when in use..... i don't want the light to stay on constant.

the trigger for the light is the ground (constant 12v source the other)

how can i say, wire in that ground do to a light, and a 12v source that "reverses" the light pulse. so say, when the light would be turned "off for the blink" the light on the dash blinks on etc.....

i hope i explained this right.......

If a simple 12V #53 relay worked, you should be able to find a smaller, quiet version that does the same thing, maybe at radio shack or another online supplier.

Ask for a SPDT or DPDT miniature relay with a 12v coil

What I need is one that is open when the coil is powered and closed when the coil is not powered.

Thats what a xPDT gets you: DT=Double Throw - means a common + pair of NC & NO contact sets

SP is single pole - just the 3 contacts

DP is Double pole - (two pairs of these contacts) you don't need it but it does no harm - many are DP types.
