Carbs are easy to tune on the fly, much cleaner look, none of those big ugly wire looms you get with EFI, and it suits the era. With a car this clean and one which will never be driven in anything less than a perfect day, who cares about reliability? It'll be stored indoors in a heated area, cold starting is a non-issue.

Carbs aren't easy to tune though - they will *never* approach the tunability or accuracy of an EFI set-up, and that's before we even talk about knock sensors etc. For low mileage, ideal fuel and conditions, it won't matter, but the Engineer in me always has a hard time accepting huge backwards steps
