How to turn PS supply line into return line?
While my PS is drained (rack down for MM replacement) I wanted to replace the supply line and rubber section of return line that were a bit greasy at the reservoir nipples (reservoir is new).
I dremelled off the crimp where rubber section of return line meets metal section.
On previous car I had Pirtek (hose shop) copy the rubber section, but was not happy with hose feeling loose where I clamped it to metal section. I think the hose has different ID at reservoir nipple compared with end that joins metal section.
I read here that the supply line is perfect shape to match return section, after cutting a piece off.
My question is (before I cut new supply hose) which section do I cut to take place of the return hose (photo shoe original return and supply line), and which way round do I fit it to get good tight fit at reservoir and at other end before clamping the end? My guess is that you cut and use the right angle section with the reservoir end, but connect moulded reservoir end to the metal section of the return line.
Thanks for advice, and hope question is clear given we are talking about using supply line as return line!

That is what I did. Got two pieces, with the second one I matched up the old hose to where it fit best on the new one and chopped.
I would go verify that I made this cut as shown above but I am not at home for a few days.
Worked great.
