928 vs girlfriend

PorKen,
That's her! Nobody should give up hope when there are girls out there like that.
If anybody finds that image distasteful, blame me. I instigated it. Also, get your head examined.

OK, Hoyo, SHE is already gone, the shark isn't. You can't get HER back, but you can keep the shark. Do you love it? Then keep it! Once it's gone, it's gone - just like HER. And I can tell you from experience, you won't live without a shark for long...
There are lots of females who own and love 928s. Just in the SF Bay Area alone I know of at least six female 928 owners, and a lot more who enjoy the cars together with their boyfriends or husbands.
Why should a woman not enjoy a 928? Well, if she doesn't share your passion, that's OK, as long as she does not oppose it.
One wife of a fanatic 928 owner once told me it's great that he is so into it - this way she always knows where he is (in the garage to wrench on one of the three beasts they own). And it keeps him happy, too! Hey, a happy man is a better man - no? Nothing better, if all it takes is a 928...
I think the line should be drawn, though, when you neglect the relationship for the car. So, set your priorities, and find a healthy balance.

That is an original Geno Pic. He passed away just before I joined rennlist in dec 00.
There is an archieve of some of his best posts located out there on the web (Chris Ford's web site - "http://www.928s4.com/GeneO.htm").
I wish I'd had the chance to meet Geno - a very colorful straight shootin 928 enthusiast!

Hey- as many women admire and respect 928's as men. I don't beleieve the car to be either a man's car or a women's car. As a woman, and a 928 owner, whoever I am with either has to accept my car or else. The car is a part of me, and if you want to be with me, you better accpet my car. It's comes with the package. So that's just my opion.

Jay Wellwood - thanks for the pic author link. I just spent an hour and a half reading those old posts. Cool old fool that Gene feller. Made me resolve to banish the political correctedness that has crept into my posts.
Anyhu, my girlfriend states that she doesn't like driving with me in the 928. I'm the best driver of all the people I know personally and she still complains. She would prefer to be 'beamed' place to place, as she hates the process of driving.
I don't tailgate, ever, I only drive real fast when there's room, and I don't even go much over 90 with a passenger anymore. I always signal, turn, and look, when changing lanes. When it's hopeless for passing, I'll stay in the middle lane for a while. She doesn't get it.
But, since she doesn't like to drive (and I can't bear to be a passenger with her; she uses the brake on the freeway for god's sake), we take my car, unless we have to take the 130lb German Shephard someplace, because I won't drive anything else anymore. Even if my car "sounds like a factory" inside.
You have to be firm with the bitches (male or female), and know you're right, and they can take it or leave it.

Porken etall-
Geno IMHO summed up best what 928 ownership is all about...
Albeit not very politically correct - but correct nonetheless.
Imagine having over 300 horses non aspirated at your leasure - and packaged in a product that weighs ~3500 lbs - and can be lightened if you wish....
Add to that the comfort factor that the 928 has....there is no match IMHO.
Remember me as always a fan of the 928...
