Looks very doable. I will give this a try soon on a pod I have. Has anyone tried this with these products? I know the texture coat is available is a LESS course texture which I think will come closer to looking correct with this car.

Dean,
Never did a 928 dash this way but I have used a similar method on a trans am dash and steering wheel with great success (cosmetically). May hold up okay for garage cars in cooler climates but these fillers all sink during hot temps. Bumper repairs which use similar materials do the same.
I think I am going to have Just Dashes do mine since I have vinyl and don't want a stitched look but then again, who wants to spend $1100.00

I've seen a video I think of someone at the factory putting the vinyl on a dash, it does't "look" that hard maybe once some kind of vacuum fixture was made.

I used the padded dash filler on my dash make over and the same dremel method. Sanded smooth but had a local guy recover in vinyl for $250 labor. I had bought the vinyl to match my seats from another vendor for $25 a yard so maybe 300 all in.

Looks great Jim. VERY nice job on the dash! LOVE that color too.
My concern is when there is no leather other than the seats in the car. If you just cover the dash and pod with something then it "looks" half done because there is no cover with sew lines on the console or door arm rests. If you have a full leather interior then coving has to be the way to go.

Ah, got it now and understand.
I know Roger (928sRus) had Robb Budd do a no seam vinyl dash for him. I saw a pic in a thread somewhere and it looked great. No idea on cost but I have seen your work and imagine you could do it with some trade secrets on how to lay the vinyl smoothly over the contour dash surfaces.
