Default How to check upper arm bushings?

While crossmember is out for MM replacement, I can see reasonable access to those inner wing nuts on front upper arms. Would be very little work to remove them.

There's a Powerflex kit to replace the bushings, but how can I tell if they need replacement? The car has done 75,000 miles and I don't do track days. The originals are 23 years young.

Any visual test or "feel" when arm is moved up and down when ball joint is disconnected that would tell me whether to replace, or just give them good clean up while they are out?

What advantage might I experience with brand new bushings?

Thanks

Adrian

Uhmmm you are sure those are wingnuts? If the bushings don't have any play, I would leave them as is. That's my take anyways.

Two nations divided by a common language!

Not "wing nuts" but the nuts accessible on what we Brits term inner wing (fender)!

Leaving alone is good for me. I'll check for play but was ok at last official road worthiness test. May remove just to clean up properly.
