H4 Question
I have my new H4 lights from Roger. I have the 80/100 kit from Roger which has the H4 connector on it. My new H4 lights have a slightly different cap which holds in the bulb.
The bottom connector appears to be a ground or something and it doesn't connect to the bulb nor have a connection on the plug to the bulb.
Do I just file this down a hair so I can put on the H4 connector from the kit (seems to be in the way by about 1mm)?
In the photo below, the offending connector on the lamp is the on in the 12 o'clock position on the light. It is the odd man out vertical male tine. (photo is upside down for some reason). In the real world this connector is at 6 o'clock on the light. It has no corresponding area on the plug.

Most H4 connectors fit without changes with this on the outside.... You can cut it off/file it down if you like - it doesn't connect to anything in this case anyway.

In the 928 it was used in some countries like the UK when they required some form of a running light to be on when driving the car.
It isn't used in our application though so you could cut it off if you wanted to.

This is a generic Bosch part used on many H4 types - some with additional integrated marker lights used on other vehicles.
I've not seen any application with this on a 928. There are always other marker (running) lights that are on whenever the headlamps are on (including additional amber markers in the foglights for ROW cars).
Some UK cars do have special headlight configurations with Dim/Dip features (headlights on at reduced intensity while markers only are on) during several years when it was mandated - however this did not affect the lampholders, only the electrical system. This ran the standard headlight low beam bulbs at reduced intensity while in this mode.
