Design 90 wheel
I have a 1" crack on one of my Design 90 (seven spoke) wheels down by the lip that the tire seats on. So the car sits. Must of happened during a road trip to Tuscon, lots of highway construction in one spot.
Anyone have one of these in 16x9 with pressure sensor in reasonable condition for sale?
A little road rash is OK. But should be straight and true

Hey, Chuck, you have the sister car of mine! Same color combo. Is yours "all grey" inside - I mean, are dash, console, interior panels and seats all one grey color? Just curious...
I'm not sure what to tell you about the rim. The previous owner of my car ruined one front rim on the freeway (ran over a UFO). and decided that it was cheaper to upgrade to 17" wheels anddeactivate the tire pressure system. I'm glad he did that, because the bigger wheels make a world of a difference in what you can do with this car.
If nobody here has a rim for sale, just try the "Big Three"...

Hi Nicole,
From what I have seen of your car in the photos you posted I think we match on color scheme. If I ever get up to a Devek days we will have to cooridinate our clothing color too.
You of coarse have some cool mods, GTS mirrors, wheels, and probably a few other items.
As far as I can tell mine still has all of its original pieces, even the original radio is still there which I don't think I had seen in any other 928 I looked at.
I purchased it from the original owner and I think he was happy to let it be as Porsche intended it.
I like the looks of your wheels and if I have trouble finding a identical substitute for my rear wheel I might just change to GTS cup or twisties like yours and then sell the Design 90's on the web.
It seems the big three are out of these wheels right now. The ones on EBAY are over priced, I'd much rather upgrade that pay that much.
I just went out to garage and snapped a picture of the interior.

Well, I think my wheel problem is solved today. I got one from 20th St Auto that they had refurbished. Looks new, I will see if it works well.
I was getting concerned because most places had none, including the big 3 and "Wheel Enhancement", which is why I turned to the group to see if anyone had a wheel squirreled away. Phone dials, slots, and GTS styles can be had at will. But Design 90's, 16x9, with pressure sensors seem to be hard to come by.
I still have the old wheel, and I am curious about the comment that John made about having it repaired. I did not know that this could be done. Any ideas on who I could call to inquire on having the old one repaired?
Nicole and Weissach, thanks for the comments. The interior is in good shape. The PO who lived in Boulder kept it garaged and had underground parking at work, so the interior had dry climate and not much sun on it. I am doing my best to keep it out of the Arizona sun. Garaged at home, covered parking at work, not a daily driver.
Weissach I went back out to the garage and snapped a few more interior pics, see below
The exterior is not as good as some others I have seem, a few dings, chips, sand pitting here and there. But original paint that has not faded and definitely a candidate for some light touch up by a chip and ding specialist. Most people don't see the imperfections at first look. Normal people (non 928 devotes) don't even try to guess its age. It looks new. When the weather cools I think I will find a good Arizona mountain top to take some photos of the inside and outside.
Nicole, Gilbert is a suburb of Phoenix. I keep hearing it is the fastest growing city in America, population of this sleepy farm town has doubled since I moved here ten tears ago.
The car just turned 63000 miles young.

Chuck: Your car is as young (mileage wise) as mine was when I bought it 3 years ago. now I have almost 78k on it, and it has been mechanically refurbished.
Your interior looks even nicer than mine. That should be ILLEGAL!!! Just kidding... Keep it up, and maybe some day we can reunite the twins...
PS: If you ever come to the Bay Area, and you have some scuffs in the leather, I have an airbrush and classic grey leather dye. I can probably make whatever imperfection you might have less obvious or invisible.

Nicole,
Touching up the drivers seat in a couple of spots makes the trip even better.
Have you tried ordering the Slate Grey paint from Porsche for touch up? Any equivilent/better sources?

The slate grey touchup paint is an OK match. You just need to use a finer brush for the little chips - otherwise you'll end up with too much of a blob. The better way is to buy "real" paint and do it with the airbrush. I've done this on my previous 928, but haven't had the nerve to do it on this one, yet.
