Depends a little on year...

Help from Schocki: 15 minute instrument pod removal update and instrument light bulbs for an OK price

Barney,
Schocki's write up is for MY 90 - 95.
Dwayne's write up may be a better fit.

I drive a lot at night, mostly up and down Hwy 5 from LA to SF and it's dark out there!
My solution was the Thai LED's in blue. They are not all that bright and I surprised how the red needles respond to it. The result is similar to a VW. Also I put LED's in the headlamp, fog, defrost etc in corresponding colors. ( green LED for headlamp)

Just got home from work and surprised to find so many notes on the pod light problem. My best guess is that Craig's analysis might be my first line of attack. Can't do much until my kids and grandkids have visited from Connecticut (wouldn't go back to live there for anything). Craig, I imagine Maine is better.

Spent much time in CT in my youth. Was better then - has grown beyond its britches. ME is good - very green - very clean. Roads/infrastructure has suffered under our exalted governor recently. I would never naysay my New England brethren in CT, but I do like ME.
Enjoy your kids/grandkids when they come.
