Default No Place for Porsches in Panama

As some of you may remember we moved to Panama November 22. I am so glad we sold the 928s as there is nowhere in this country where you could drive them like they deserve.

Their version of the autobahn has a limit of 120 km/hour. And most of the other roads would eat the suspension in months.

I miss them a little but I'll trade 'em for Panama any day.

Hope all you gear heads are doing well!

Hi Randy - Glad you checked in. So what is life like down there? Is it what you expected? Third Coast isn't the same without you. Take care!

wow, RC.

but a subscription is like 18 bucks.

I'd pay like, twice that much to read everyone's (mostly) enlightening posts up on the P&C island to go
along with the nonsensical rants from the libtards, (that I suppose we can get for free on the MSLSD site).....

just the same, I enjoyed your posts up there.

enjoy the tropics.

od.

Remembering Third Coast as I do I am confident it's not for lack of mooning drunks!

Life down here is better than it's been for years. I love the country and I don't miss the bs u.s. popular culture or politics.

Cheryl will fully agree when she becomes a fluent (or even half ***) Spanish speaker. We have a teacher here at the house every Friday so we are making progress.

Cheryl's in Texas visiting family (hence the wee hours) and she can't wait to get back. I think she misses the dogs.

Speaking of which, Panamanians are generally afraid of dogs. Their love for dogs increases as the size decreases. It's hilarious when I take the dogs (off leash) for a walk. One weighs 150 lbs, one 110 lbs and the other, oh hell, he's a runt and doesn't count. Seriously though, I've had children climb up on fences and adults make sudden u-turns. The Panamanian dogs for the most part turn tail at the site of the Texans.

Take care!

Panamanians are just like the Persians

I hope all is going well for you as it sounds like you are having fun down there.

Good to hear you guys had a soft landing and that 928 withdrawal is survivable. We’re seriously thinking of settling down in St. John (virgin islands) in 2 years – and like Panama, I’d be crazy to drag the 928 there.

I'm in the Caribbean often. St.croix. I've been seriously considering a Boxster focused retail sales & service shop. Early Boxster are readily avail. They are a good size for island roads, convertible etc.
