The Excellence editor is a different Greg Brown.

But they should reach out to our Greg Brown- Think of the monthly column he could write- Tech, customer stories, factory correspondence, model-specific pitfalls, memoirs about crew-chiefing. I'd read it.

 

+1, it took him a day or so to reply, but there was a reason, it was a rather involved answer that he took the time to write: didn't have to do that, but he did.

 

Greg's shop is a fun place, interesting cars and people, never a dull moment. My favorite thing, watching a PPI, nothing slips past Greg's eye.

I like the idea of a Greg Brown fantasy camp. 5 - 10 of us spend a week with Greg & his crew as he uses each of our cars to illustrate common (and not so common) problems, how to diagnose them and how to fix them. We'd each pay for a full day's worth of shop labor and an additional amount for the privilege of watching and learning. Would be fun.

 

I did that "camp" as a solo experience not all that long ago the old very brown 1980 got a LOT of love !! It took up a week by itself !

 

I'd be willing to come out, pay Greg's shop rate for a day or two so I could hang out, have my car be the focus and come back with a perfect car.

How do we get something like this rolling? I mean I know you can schedule a time with him to work on your car but how to you convince him to let you pay him to teach you? Just pay his shop rate on top of the work as a "labor charge" or something. It would be certainly worth the dollars to me. I just like seeing a maestro at work.

I would like to add to this old thread that none of my cars be running right without Greg's help.

 

All of my cars are running better than they would ,
since Greg was helpful with sage advice.

If only these typewritten excursions could be conducted in person.

I walk to my own Drummer, but I also recognize wisdom...and pay attention.

 

But some of the criticisms seem justified. Greg may be the most knowledgeable and makes a lot of products, BUT GOOD LUCK trying to get them. I tried years back to get help with the fuel lines, got nowhere!

seems like an IN PERSON thing. Anyways that forced me to develop my own solution, which is the best looking and specced fuel lines out there

P.S., I've never had a problem sourcing Greg's parts.
